The Jennifer Adesuwa Baker Foundation

One of our candidates set up her own foundation in June 2022, The Jennifer Adesuwa Baker Foundation.

The Jennifer Adesuwa Baker Foundation was registered in 2022 as a development organisation and a Non-Governmental Organisation working with communities, institutions, and government agencies to challenge harmful practices against children in impoverished and underserved communities.

This is done through advocacy, raising awareness, providing relief materials, promoting access to formal education, coding classes, and vocational/entrepreneurial skills training, and the general support needed to enable these children to reach their full potential.

Since its registration in January 2022, The Jennifer Adesuwa Baker Foundation has reached out to girls in Akwanga, Nassrawa State, Nigeria, and registered a few in fashion academies and coding classes.  They have donated food items/relief materials to children in Plateau State, Nigeria, and recently donated educational materials to children in Edo State, Nigeria.

Despite the changes and shortcomings, they are committed to inspiring, empowering, and protecting the rights of the Nigerian child, and with the help of all, they can achieve this.

Their Approach is to:-

1. Identify – Experienced members of staff help to identify children who need the necessary support and assistance. They go to places with a high rate of disadvantaged kids and help them to achieve their dreams.

2. Educate – Advocacy, raising awareness, promoting access to formal education, coding classes, and vocational/entrepreneurial skills training are at the core of the mission at The JAB Foundation.

3. Empower – They are constantly looking for ways to provide disadvantaged children with tools that empower them to reach their full potential. They do this by providing them with the pre-requisite skills needed for their development.
