As a bespoke home care provider, we offer the highest standard of complex and nursing care to support people in their own homes, for both adults and children.
As healthcare professionals – including all of our colleagues who work in the care sector – we get up every morning to aspire to be the best we can be and to give our clients the support and dignity that we believe they deserve. This includes 24/7 care – during nights, weekends, and unsocial hours – so why is Christmas different?
Christmas is celebrated by people all around the world for different reasons, be it traditional, religious, or something else. For many of us, Christmas is a time for families and friends to come together It not only brings about a sense of community, but it is also a time to share and reflect on kindness and selflessness, tolerance, and acceptance, as it is the true meaning of other celebrations such as Diwali, Ramadan, and many others.
These times bring a spirit of connection, and we are proud to be able to support our Service Users in spending such a special time at home with their loved ones if they wish to do so.
In our Paediatric Manager’s words:
“These children have often been through so much and so adding magic to their Christmas is a big drive!”
I am sure most of our colleagues in the Care sector can relate to this.
But let’s not forget the wonderful staff that will be working during the festive period. Whilst we know that this comes as part of the profession, it can be challenging, and this can take many forms, such as staffing issues, transport issues, and not being around family and friends.
We at Care First 24 want to thank our Staff and support them, as well as our Clients. Apart from the lovely Christmas cards (bought from charity organisations) and gifts that all our staff will receive, we will look at distances for staff working on Christmas day to ensure that no long distance travel is involved.
In addition, our Consultants will also be delivering gifts to our Service Users.
We are:
- Supplying presents to our local children’s Christmas party for disabled children, and we will be having a fundraising raffle.
- Will be asking our staff to Donate a Gift under ‘The Giving Tree’ at Bluewater to make a difference, giving a child a reason to smile this festive season.
- We will be supplying 21 days of meals for homeless people with UK Homes 4 Heroes pride and passion, where our very own MD will be working a couple of shifts!
May we take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
