Q&A Session with Greg Palmer, Business Delivery Manager at Care First 24 Ltd

At Care First 24 Ltd, we fully appreciate that the Business Delivery Manager has a wide range of responsibilities to ensure that the company as a whole reaches its full potential.  The role is crucial for continuing growth and keeping the business essentials strong and consistent.

Here, Greg Palmer, tells you a little more about his background and career path to becoming a Business Delivery Manager at Care First 24.

We asked Greg how it all started:-

Q.  What was your background and career path prior to starting at Care First 24.  What was your first position?

I have been very fortunate in my background and career path as I have been able to gain the education working with and alongside some of the highest quality industry leaders within Healthcare Recruitment and bespoke care providers over a long period of time. This has been instrumental in leading me to my role today with Care First 24. Working with and alongside such pivotal and inspiring leaders and colleagues, I have been able to absorb the benefits of understanding people as individuals and market patterns, developing a strong resilient attitude and honing innovative strategies in how I can deliver my role across a business to support in aspects my skills will allow. I am continuously learning and developing further with my understanding of the vast pockets of industry.

 

Q.  What are your main roles as BDM at Care First 24, how did it all begin for you, and what do you enjoy most about this role?

The prominent duties of my role as a BDM with Care First 24 are varied as a start-up business, many hats must be worn in order to progress and share knowledge. Whilst the company is a relatively new venture, we are made up of extremely experienced individuals, which assists in benefiting our clients as their needs can be met with a knowledgeable team with fresh enthusiasm. We have seen great growth since its creation and have been able to expand to a vast number of clients providing a wide range of services across many disciplines. The majority of where my role sits is engagement with clients to discover the needs within their locations and proactively problem solve, where possible, in offering an honest and transparent solution-based plan/outcome whilst networking and promoting Care First 24 within the location and beyond. Once there is an opportunity to support, I then assist with the experienced team to deliver the support through to start.

 

Q.  Are there many opportunities to access training to help you enhance your knowledge and advance your career at Care First 24?

The opportunity to access training aiding to enhancement of my knowledge is extensive at Care First 24. Working closely with the RM and MD of the business as well as the experienced individuals across all departments, my knowledge is ever growing in solutions we can offer and grasping the wisdom of the dedicated professionals within the business on how we can evolve in delivering on those services for the individuals. Pathways are available to improve both your professional knowledge as well as your personal advancements with more plans in the pipeline to offer further developments for staff and families with the Care First 24 family.

 

Q.  Are there many career progression opportunities within Care First 24?

I would say during the interview and onboarding of an internal and external staff member, their potential career journey with Care First 24 is explained with clear achievable pathways to progress within this company. I have witnessed progression via the pathway channels for several employees since I have been here and seen their knowledge, skills and confidence grow both in a professional and personal capacity. I think the openness and transparency of the company’s ethos allows staff to engage in those open conversations leading to new opportunities and subsequent progression within that new opportunity once deemed appropriate.

 

Q.  What guidance and support have you received from your colleagues and managers since joining the team?

Everyone here within the office and out in the field has been incredibly supportive in helping me gain the know-how and ethos of Care First 24. Having worked in the industry for a while, certain elements are transferable, however, understanding the core of a new company can take some time to grasp and interpret to the standards of how the company wish to present. In order to present the values, staff of all levels enter into a thorough induction and work alongside line managers closely whilst given the freedom to learn and grow within your role.

 

Q.  What would you say to anyone who is looking to join Care First 24?
